To Configure the systray we
need to open open the HoverDesk Configuration
window, so right click the main
tile and select Configuration.
In the left
side click Taskbar more...

The top box Misc Options is for use with
the task tiles, we'll cover this later.
The bottom box SysTray Options is for
configuring the systray.
Setting the Texture
Show SysTray: tick to have the systray showing all the time, untick to hide it. *Tip You can press ctrl+W to flick between hide and show
Transparent SysTray: tick if you want it entirely transparent to the desktop or for use with a bmp, please tick it for this theme
Drop Shadow on Icons: speaks for itself, please tick it for this theme. In the Texture box, click the browse
button. You should immediately be in the Pixel Perfect theme folder, (if not you'll be in the themes folder, just double click the Pixel Perfect folder) Look for the .bmp file called systray.bmp and double click it.
Click OK
If the tray looks a little dodgy
to start with press ctrl+W twice to refresh
it.
Now it still doesn't look quite right, so right click
the main tile and select Configuration
then click Taskbar more...
First of all
the icons look a little too high, let's drop them down a bit.
Moving the Icons
In the Icons Offset Y box type in 3 (3 is the maximum we can offset it by)
Click OK.
Hmmm, looks a little better,
but the half circle at the end is stretched so it looks silly. Let's fix
that
too.
Stretching the Texture
Right click the main tile again select Configuration then click Taskbar more...
Right at the bottom of the window you should see the Stretchable section setting box.
Because I designed the systray
bmp I know that the first part if the bmp which I don't want to be
stretched
is 14 pixels wide so type 14 into the
X1 box.
Now after 14 pixels it can stretch anywhere it wants but the image is only
29X29 pixels so in the X2 box type 24.
This means that from the bmp,
hvd will stretch the part between 14 and 24. 0 - 14 is unstretched and 24
- 29 is unstretched.
Here's a systray which shows the stretching effect
better
The icons in this tray would be placed into the stretchable section
(between
X1 and X2) of this bmp (for example try changing the X1 position of our
systray
to 22)
For a better looking systray, go to start/settings/taskbar and start menu.
In the taskbar Properties window uncheck 'show clock'
Our systray looks just the way we want it to look now, but it's sitting in
the wrong place.
So shift+drag it into the light gray area
of the wallpaper.
*Note don't try to shift+drag on an icon, you must
click on a part of the bmp.
I designed the bmp to make it look as if the tray was coming out of the
right
edge of the wall, so position it as close to the edge of the screen as you
can.
Remember the systray can be
refreshed at anytime by pressing ctrl+W
Your systray, disregarding the
icons should be looking like this
